Project structure
The
project structure represented in the figure below shows that each work
package addresses one objective. However, there is a clear linkage
between the objectives and thus, between the work packages.
To
reach the overall goal and objectives of the project and to ensure an
efficient and welltimed implementation, the work for the proposed
ECROPOLIS project has been divided into 6 work packages, 5 RTD-work
packages (WP1-5), one dissemination and training work package (WP6),
and one management cluster (WP0). Based on the framework developed in
WP1 to synthesis the available material on sensory characteristics of,
the regulatory impact on as well as of consumer attitudes towards
organic foods, the sensory profiling will be elaborated in WP3 and the
qualitative and quantitative consumer research carried out in close
relationship in WP4. The OSIS database will be prepared early in the
project (WP2) to provide a platform for continuous implementation of
research data from WP3 and WP4. WP5 then draws recommendations for and
allows interaction with all stakeholder groups in order to inform
about the synthesis work among sensory profiles with standard
requirements and consumer research. At that stage of the project WP2
activities provide further conceptual input how to spread product
information and how to maintain the data exchange to nationally
available product databases. WP6 comprises the involvement of
dissemination of project results to important stakeholders and the
public as well as training activities for sales staff as well as
retailers/wholesalers.
