Project partners
The project consortium consists of 20 partner institutions from 6 different
European countries. The selection of partners combines different
competences and expertise required for a successful effectuation of the
project. All in all, the consortium integrates more applied and more
scientific oriented partners in a balanced combination making use of
experiences of different partners. This allows comprehensive
recommendations for SMEs and SME-AGs.
The
consortium
of 20 partners includes 8 research institutions. The remaining 12
consortium partners are private organisations (SMEAGs/SMEs): 6 organic
associations, 1 retailer active in selling exclusively organic foods, 1
pilot center representing a model organic farm and processing property
for initiating knowledge transfer among farmers, advisers and
researchers, 1 sales and marketing company that links existing organic
companies, consumers and other stakeholders into a business model as
well as 3 processors representing almost all product categories tested
in the project (oils, meat products, bakery and fresh products).
FiBL
as project leader is highly experienced in the field of organic food in
general and organic marketing especially. A strict project management,
integrating the needs of the business partners, guarantees applied
results.
Involvement of SME-AGs and SMEs
For the project consortium it is important that relevant organic food actors are activelyinvolved in the project and contribute with their practical background. Six small and medium
enterprises (SMEs) will contribute with their specific knowledge on different fields of organic production, processing and trading.
Scientific Board and Executive Board
The Scientific Board (SB) consists of the project co-ordinator and each work package leader. It acts as a scientific management and advisory unit between single work packages and the Executive Board (EB) supports the project coordinator in its responsibility for the overall performance of the project. The members of the EB consist of one representative of each SME-AG who is a senior manager having substantial experience in the management of multidisciplinary research projects (see also profiles of each participant).
