Within the European research project ECROPOLIS the sensory charcteristics of organic products have been analysed in five EU-memberstates and in Switzerland.
At the end of november FiBL, ZHAW and Agrovision arranged a workshop in Switzerland. At the workshop the results of the sensory studies have been presented to representatives ion processing, trade anfd marketing of organic products.

WELCOME - today the new ECROPOLIS-website is launched!
BNN Herstellung und Handel e.V. (Organic Processors and Traders Association), co-initiator of the scientific project, generated the online presence of ECROPOLIS.
On www.ecropolis.eu interested users can find important information about the project, its tasks and aims. In addition to that the website presents the project partners, the project structure and work packages in a clear arranged and attractive way.
As soon as first research results are available, you will find them on the website as well.
BNN is looking forward to constructing a lively website which offers a continuous information flow and an attractive platform for knowledge exchange!

In January 2009, the European research project Ecropolis has been
approved. FiBL is coordinator of this project which will analyze
sensory profiles of different organic products for three years. The
data will be entered in the Organic Sensory Information System (OSIS).
Also there will be collected information about underlying production
methods which explain the sensory differences between organic and
conventional.
