Agrovision
The Agrovision Burgrain AG was founded in spring 2008 on behalf of the Swiss foundation Agrovision Muri. The main task of Agrovision Burgrain AG is to plan and implement an integrated project which link activities of the agricultural, processing, wholesaling and the retailing sector.
This future oriented pilot project follows a unique approach in Switzerland.
On the area of an agricultural property a private funded centre for
organic farming and processing will be developed as a model and pilot
for organic farmers and processors from the region Zentralschweiz.
Apart from the own commercial activities at the property in Alberswil a
service center will be developed for research, consultation and
knowledge exchange targeting the regional organic farmers.
Apart
from production and processing activities on the own property,
Agrovison Burgrain AG provides several services dedicated to organic
farmers and processors around and fund research activities which
support the organic farming development in Switzerland. One of the
service activities will strengthen the market power of regional organic
farmers and processors by establishing a wholesale and logistic
platform. This will be achieved by a better access of farm products to
the local market by an improved logistic.
The wholesale
service will start its business activities in the year 2009. On behalf
of the project results of ECROPOLIS Agrovison Burgrain AG will develop
together with their regional partners a premium food brand for the
Swiss market. The organic raw material will be produced and processed
carefully and will result in organic premium products with specific
taste characteristic.
The philosophy of Agrovision behind their projects is based on the following principles:
- to support the regional organic farmers,
- to support the regional trade circle,
- to support quality production on farm level,
- to support fair and ethical driven partnership relations within the organic market.
